Morrison Left. But we still Have Pogba

During the Paul Scholes testimonial in August last summer, Ferguson made one of his many symbolic changes. When the retiring Scholes was substituted towards the end of the game Fergie replaced him with Paul Pogba. Perhaps it was a hidden message by Fergie symbolising that although we were losing a great talent, we had other young players that were near ready to take his place.

Of course Pogba is still not the finished article and at present is being slowly blended into the first team. When Ravel Morrison left the club, that same day Fergie again showed the fans in a symbolic way to forget about Morrison, by handing Pogba his first premier league game as a substitute. And his choice of substitution was merited with a fine display by Pogba.

Ferguson was pointing out to fans that we may have lost one supreme talent but there is another one there to ease that pain. Not only that but Pogba is the complete opposite of Morrison in terms of temperament and dedication to his career. Recently there have been headlines suggesting he may leave the club also, but that all seems to be sorting itself out and it looks like he will carry on and prosper with Man Utd.

Judging from reports coming out of Old Trafford a couple of weeks ago, it seemed that everyone at United had lost patience with Ravel Morrison. He may have been Number 2 in our Top 7 Starlets last year but if that was the case then its a lot easier for everyone involved to let him leave. Best of luck to him, but for United staff and fans it is far more important to concentrate on what we do have, and Paul Pogba is one that falls under that bracket.

Hopefully over the next couple of months Pogbas contract issue will be put to bed and he can concentrate on getting himself into the first team.

Pogba recently told MUTV about his frame of mind at the moment:
“It’s very good,Just to train with the talented players, top-class players, and improve and get more experience.”
“I hope I will come on and do my best and show everyone what I can do.”

Who do you think United are better off with? Pogba or Morrison?

Good to see him getting some time on the bench, he’ll learn a lot simply by being in the presence of the likes of Giggs, Scholes and Rooney. However would be great to see Fergie giving him a bit more game time.
